Toolbox session 5

In this session we were asked to analyse the fashion shows and design a sneaker for the show we selected. We were also asked to analyse Manish Arora summer/spring collection as an example. The collection was inspired by Indian deities and mythology. There were direct connection to the theme. The colour palette was dominated by the pastels and metallics. The garments were designed keeping in mind individuality of each element and his work was mainly focused on the textiles of the collection.

The fashion show I selected to analyse was for the Louis Vuitton Spring 2022 Ready-to-wear collection. It was inspired by how intersects with time and keeps coming back. The theme was also explained as ‘ Grand ball of time’. the collection was very diverse with the designs and colour.

While analysing the collection I was able to study it in detail and understood what the designer wanted to portray through it. It was an interesting class because I like studying about different collections and styles. The collection was made keeping in mind a vampire who lived through different eras of fashion and adapted to different styles. The collection included a variety of evening wear dresses and formal attires.

I was able to create a basic idea for the sneaker inspired by the visits and collection during the class. I also tried experimenting with different colours before finalising it. I experimented with different styles of sneakers but decide to keep it simple so that it would work with the theme of the collection. I used different pictures from the Victoria and Albert museum and a few street arts as the inspiration for the sneakers. I used a mix of them because the collection consisted a mix of different styles too. So I tried work with a casual style so that they can be work by anyone and anytime.
